23 March, sunny
There was something today I didn’t understand. I hesitated for two seconds, then said it: “I haven’t learned that yet.”
Saying it was a relief. I used to nod along, then quietly catch up on my own later — no loss of face on the surface, and one wasted chance to solve it right there.
Admitting you don’t know is the first step to knowing. Pretending to know is exactly why you stay ignorant. Nobody expects you to know everything; but everyone remembers the person willing to start from the beginning.
“I haven’t learned that yet” takes more courage than “I’ve got it” — and it’s worth more.
One less pretense today.
