29 March, sunny
I ran a small experiment today: the phone went into another room, and I kept one whole hour for myself.
The first ten minutes were uncomfortable; my hand kept reaching for a pocket. After twenty, my head began to quieten. After forty, I read the hardest pages of this stretch of weeks. So I never lacked time — I just kept cutting it into scraps.
Attention is the most expensive thing there is right now. If you don’t protect it, someone else will spend it for you.
Putting the phone further away works better than forcing yourself to “focus”.
That hour was worth it. Again tomorrow.
